Repositories

Repository infrastructure – whether institutional, discipline-based, or focused on primary research data – will form the backbone of science and scholarship in the twenty-first century.

Knowledge Exchange is currently exploring various avenues of co-operation on standards, interoperability and transnational co-operation to promote and implement a common vision of repository infrastructure.

A first preparation meeting with experts from the four countries plus a representative from the European Union-funded DRIVER project took place late August 2006 in Copenhagen. At the meeting a workshop “not of talks, but of tasks” was planned. The Institutional Repositories Workshop took place on 16 and 17 January 2007 in Utrecht.
